I opened this article describing a time when i felt god’s presence physically, but that is not the typical way a christian experiences god’s. While this study can be done alone, it will be more beneficial if worked through with a discipleship partner.

Here are some thoughts to help us understand how we got in this mess and why this confusion concerning his presence remains in the body of christ like a terminal illness. Start the day seeking god’s presence and search for him all through the day and revel in the gracious encounters of god throughout the day. Study people like hagar, joseph, ruth and many others and learn how they reacted to impossible circumstances. This prayer will help you to partner with god as you seek his face and his presence both personally and for your city.

Moses sought the presence of god as a friend of god. I had to learn to enjoy god’s presence, not focus on what he was doing or not doing for me. The eyes of faith reveal god to us.
Open your heart to receive his presence. We need to seek the face of god, knowing we are seeking the face of jesus. Acknowledging god’s daily provision based on his daily promise will cause us to give him daily praise and then because we see god’s goodness to us we will be encouraged to have daily prayer.
Ask the spirit to make known god’s nearness. We need to seek his face like there is nothing else that matters more. When we worship him, he shows up as we welcome his presence.
Why do we seek the presence of the lord? When we are aware of god’s presence, there is no room for fear. Very few christians live in 24/7 relationship with the lord.
The church, god’s people, are referred to. One of the most important lessons we can learn is to seek god's face (who he is) and not just his hand (what he can do for us). God’s face, his holy presence, needs to stand out from every other in our crowded lives.
This was a major lesson for me. As we pray to god and spend time with him, we learn to hear his voice.
